I’m a fan of the collapsible lightsphere. Is a lot smaller to carry around with you and it fits on the flash really tight so it won’t come off easy. I have the omnibounce too just in case!
Which diffuser is best to use when taking pictures outside the club, at night, with no possibility of bounce? I’m not only asking what diffuser to use specifically, but also what kind of diffuser would be best for outdoors in general. Thanks guys!
I use the orbs ring flash or a bounce card.
The orbis is really cool, and doesn’t hide your autofocus assist, you do need to dial in a stop or so exposure complensations so that’s fine. With the likes of the stofen, what they do is send your light in every direction making the Walls, ceilings etc into you light sources (which is useful in low ceiling clubs) but in most clubs here have night ceilings so the stofen isn’t super useful. I would never use the fong stuff, you would be cheaper and save more flash power getting a mini soft box for your flash . Must because the fonts are sooooo expensive for what you get (which is basically a £2-3 piece of moulded plastic
Hey Will, thanks for the comment. The Fongs are definitely expensive, and there are alternatives. They are still very popular despite the cost.
Since this video, I use a variety of different flash set ups depending on where and what I’m shooting.
